Holding Yarn For Crochet

1. Begin by turning your non-dominant hand palm toward you.

Wrap Yarn Around Pinky Finger Counter Clockwise

2. Loosely wrap yarn around your pinky finger counter clockwise.

Weave yarn over your two middle fingers.

3. Next bring the yarn up over your two middle fingers.

Bring the yarn behind your index finger.

4. Bring the yarn up and behind your index finger.

This is the basic hold for the yarn.

5. The yarn is now in place, adjust tightness and position as needed.

Rest the slip knot on your middle finger.

6. Rest the slip knot on your middle finger.

Pinch the slip knot.

7. Pinch the slip knot between your thumb and middle finger. Now you are ready to start chaining!
