Crochet Wish Wash Dishcloths

There are a lot of crochet items at the store lately and one of the most popular items seems to be dishcloths. I looked at the price for just 2 and it tends to be around $15. $15! Well, I knew this was way more than they cost to make so I thought, I’ll just make my own set. And here we are with the Crochet Wish Wash Dishcloths crochet pattern!

Fortunately I had a lot of the materials on hand, but even if you have to purchase the thread and a hook, it should be relatively inexpensive. And based on the Wish Wash Dishcloths pattern, you should be able to get several out of the yarn recommended – you’ll just have to mix up the colors a bit.

Pattern Development & Difficulty Rating

I varied the size of the spaces between the three dishcloths. Variety is important in the kitchen – sometimes you need a tight weave but then other times, something more open will work just fine. The tightest weave is the ivory & rose design – the spaces are very small and should hold up well for doing the dishes. The ivory & blue is more open throughout and will work great for wiping things down at the end of the day.

This pattern is rated as intermediate. This is mainly because there is a lot of counting until you get a hang of the repeats. There is also a funky 2-dc horizontal cluster stitch used for the ivory, blue & green design. I experimented and pushed for more unique stitches. Once you get the hang of it, it is a super fun stitch to use. But it can be tricky figuring it out the first few times. Hang in there, you’ll get it!

Here are some close-ups of each pattern – I know they’re aren’t square, this is pre-blocking. :/

Ready To Get Started?

You’re probably wondering what all you’ll need to make this set of three dishcloths. Here are the exact items I used to make the bags in the photos. Disclosure: links will take you to Amazon where I will earn a small commission on your purchase. Thank you for your support & understanding!

I purchased some of the crochet thread at my local Michael’s store because I wanted a better color palette. While collecting links for the above list, I noticed the Michael’s website says ‘online only’ for a few of them. All of these were available at my store, so you might want to check before ordering online.

When you’re done making your crochet Wish Wash dishcloths I’d love to see them! Please tag your Instagram and Facebook posts with #wishwashdishcloths and #cnccrocheters so we can see what you made!
